Gothic Workerism

The art in this section is by an unknown artist, for an unknown purpose (maybe just the purpose of sketching) sometime last century. The pictures are mainly either charcoal or watercolour on paper and most are approximately 43 x 30cm. They are ostensibly about decorating and household repairs - but the lighting and the lack of facial expressions add a degree of strangeness...

Accidental Dada

The pieces in this section are preparatory shapes and words used for the creation of puzzles in puzzle books and newspapers in the 1970s. Some are hand drawn/written whilst others look like they use Letraset or are printed. These pieces are on thick art board - the largest of which  ('Board 1') measures approx 43 x 28 cm.
